Dear Sirs,
Cyber (insurance and expert) protection has become increasingly important since the introduction of the EU GDPR regulations in 2018 and the significant increase in cyber crime (notably Maersk and CMA CGM cyber attacks). Notably, the EU authorities have levied severe penalties against companies found to lack adequate cyber protection, when they have been hacked and lost personal data.
Cyber risk management is about to become part of ISM code from 1/1/21. The new resolution encourages administrations to ensure that cyber risks are appropriately addressed in existing safety management systems (as defined in the ISM Code) no later than the first annual verification of the company's Document of Compliance after 1 January 2021.

In response to this new development; the insurance industry will now be able to provide cyber risk management support together with insurance solutions. The support services will examine in detail through hardware, software, recovery procedure, safety procedures and advise as to where the company is in respect of the “cyber maturity spectrum”. The insurance cover will have options to cover, physical, financial losses, fines and liability damages, as well as the remedy of the system after an incident. Please contact us for further information in respect of these insurance products.
